Ushio sat up, her head bowed. "Kaji..." The shock finally registered. "Kaji..." She started sobbing. "Kaji-kun, no, don't die...! I... I can't live without you...w-what about Isamu...and Ryuuji?"

Samael looked at her " before I let the nearly dead Kaji back apologize to my son for possibly traumatizing him "

Kou crawled over onto her lap and lay there. "Goo!"

She smiled weakly and he sucked on her fist. "I'm not going to die, Kou-chan... Not yet."

Samael sighed " I guess that will do ... ugh im going to feel this when I wake up " he collapsed as he reverted to kaji who was nearly dead

Ushio got Kaji on her lap. She kissed his head. "Kaji-kun...don't go. I love you. So pkease don't leave me...we have a future to look forward to. We have Isamu and Ryuuji...and I thought you wanted to solve me. The puzzle isn't solved yet." She kissed him on the lips and tears dropped onto his face. "You are my reason to live, remember?"

" then why wont you bound with me " he croaked

"Because that bond is forever...and I don't want you to regret having to wake up having me kiss you everyday," she said sadly. "One day, you might get sick of it."

" I know but thats what I want, its what I look forward to and if you dont bond with me I WILL DIE " he said

Her throat was dry. "...alright," she whispered. "I pro- I swear on my life, I will bond with you when you get better."

Good " he said sitting up " I just need some water and ill be fine "

"....gah, you tricked me!" she said, shaking him. "Meanie!"

what I dehydrated myself " he guzzled down some water and smiled " bond with me "

"You...you tricked me, you... Meanie," she sniffed.

" Yeah I tricked you to get what I desire most" he said putting his arm around her waist " which is you and me bound together for all eternity "

She sniffed again and looked up at him warily. "....do you actually want me the most? Would you pay your life, your soul to be mine?"

Ushio kissed him back, just as hard. She clasped his hand. "...tell me, what kind of ring do you want?" she said against his mouth.

Ushio squeezed his hand back. And slowly, the pattern of flames burned under the skin of his palm. And a ring with the same design on her finger.
