the first step ( Open )

Yukiko was straight up out of bed with her Katana when she awoke, she rushed out to the lounge expected to see a fight but when she noticed Shiro she dropped her blade and rushed over to him and shaking him "wake up Shiro, your having a bad dream" she said shaking him, he had never started screaming in his sleep before.

Shiro awoke with a start, instinctively backing away from Yukiko.
For a few moments he stared at her in horror, until he realised she was not going to hurt him.
Relaxing just a little Shiro tried to calm his breath and his racing heart.
Absent-mindedly he was rubbing his wrist, where a bracelet used to be once.
It had been taken from Shiro over a year ago but he still missed it.
Even though he did not remember when or where he had found it, it had protected him.
At least for a while...

She sighed and placed the Katana down next to her and decided to do what any mother would do for a child with a nightmare, she sat beside him and embraced him as a natural instinct "it's okay Shiro your safe it was just a dream" she stayed like that for a while until she was sure he was okay then let go of him and stood up with a caring smile "night Shiro wake us up if you need anything"

Shiro frowned as he watched her go to bed again. She had hugged him. Just like that. Although he had probably woken her up with his screams. Shaking his head he lay back down, closing his eyes. He was afraid of more nightmare but could not keep himself awake. He was too tired...

She awoke two more times after the first incident, all to Shiro's screaming and she did the same each time she woke, she walked out and held him till he calmed down, on he third time she was to tired and she woke him and grabbed his wrist dragging him off the couch "come on you can sleep with me tonight, Mabey that will help" sh smiled back at him as a yawn escaped from her lips, she walked with him to her bedroom and layed down under the covers and lifted them up for him to climb under "come on Shiro I'm tired" she murmered and waited for him so she could go back to the peaceful embrace of sleep.

Shiro frowned. He lay down on the bed, trying to have as much space between them as possible. This was weird - but it was better than the couch, he thought. Closing his eyes he dozed off, too tired to even worry about more nightmares.

Yukiko didn't care that he was with her in her bed just as long as she could sleep again. She yawned and fell asleep moments later, there were no more screams to wake her up that night and she was grateful. She woke in the morning with a content smile on her face and stretched totally forgetting that Shiro was in the bed.

Shiro was too tired to even have any more nightmares.
When he woke up the next morning he felt dizzy and was still tired.
He rolled over, noticing someone laying besides him.
Whoever it was, Shiro did not care.
Probably a guy he had met yesterday.
Now and again Shiro got drunk and randomly fucked people he found attractive.
Shiro yawned, his morning wood pressing against the stranger.

Yukiko stiffened as she felt something agaisnt her she turned slowly and finally saw Shiro in the bed, she was about to freak out but the memories flooded back as if they wanted her to remember, she laughed slightly when she realised that she was about to kick him out of bed "good morning Shiro, I trust you slept well" she uttered as she lay her head back on the pillow, she still felt something pressing agaisnt her, she lifted the blankets and looked down, he was still wearing pants but it was still noticeable, she blushed a bright red but didn't want to embarrass him further so she ignored it, it was a normal thing for guys and it was still in his pants so it was okay, anyway she was sure that he would notice soon enough and then the awkward moment would be over.

"Muh...", Shiro made, still not realizing who was next to him. "It's cold", he complained and expected that person to drop the blanket so he was covered again. "Also, where's the breakfast?", he asked, hoping for something nice to eat - soon.

Yukiko scabbled out of bed and headed for the door "breasfast will be made shortly" she explained, lingering in the doorway "you, uh wake up some more" she walked downstairs to the kitchen and the sounds of metal and pans could be heard, she pulled out some bacon and eggs from the fridge and put some toast i the toaster, Ykiko knew he wasn't a vegetarian because of their trips to the ramen shop before she had to leave for two years.

Yukiko shook her head, banning the memories from entering her mind and made her full attention foucus on breakfast, she lit the frypan and moments after that the sizzling of bacon could be heard, the smells drifted up the stairs and into the bedroom where Shiro was currently dozing, mabey the smell of food would wake him from his slumber. Shiro had always loved his food.

The smell of breakfast did indeed wake Shiro's spirits and after he had rid himself of his morning wood he went downstairs to see what Yukiko made for him. "Smells great", he mumbled, trying to get a glimpse of what she was preparing. He seemed like a curious little boy and was likely to burn his fingers only because he wanted to see, smell and touch anything he was interested in.

She noticed him trying to reach a hand out and lightly hit it with a wooden spoon "uh uh don't touch, it's almost ready" she smiled back at him and pointed the spoon towards two tables and chairs "I hope you like bacon and eggs" she joked

"A few days ago I had rats for breakfast. So... yeah, I guess I might even like bacon and eggs", Shiro said cynically. He sat down at the table and his stomach growled loudly.

"okay I guess bacon and eggs could be better then rats" she was an experienced cook but she wasn't sure if Shiro remembered but he would soon find out, she served it on two plates which she placed down on the table and handed him a knife and fork, and sat down opposite him, she took a bite of her food and smiled, man she was a good cook.

Shiro dug into his food, it was great. He seemed like a hungry animal - and he felt like it.

Yukiko laughed as she watched him do his normal routine of inhaling food "try not to choke on me Shiro" it was good to have her friend back, even if he didn't remember her

Shiro grinned at her and laughed - and then started coughing, choking on his food.
"Shi-shit", he croaked, trying to breathe again.

Yukiko automatically stood behind him and pat his back to help him "stay with me buddy, I can't have you dying" she continued to pat his back but he was still chocking so she slipped her arms around him doing the hymleck manouvre hoping to help

Shiro had almost regained control when Yukiko pushed his chest in a weird way, giving him a start. "What the-", he started, grabbing hold of his seat with both hands. Frowning he turned his head to face her. "What did you just do?", he asked.

She immedietly released him once she realised that he didn't have a clue what she did "its a technique you use on people when they choke, it helps get rid of the thing obstructing your breathing" doing her best to explain she looked out the kitchen window and sighed, leaving her food alone for a bit, she wasn't really hungry anyway

Shiro frowned at her and shook his had. "You are odd", he said, then touched his chest as if to see if he was broken. Then he casually started eating as though nothing out of the ordinary had happened - only eating more carefully than before, not being all too keen on choking again.

Yukiko smiled slightly at his comment "first time i've heard that" she replied turning her gaze back down to her food, what was wrong with her, mabey it was that she missed the old Shiro.

Suddenly she heard a thump downstairs and her eyes narrowed "wait here" she instructed adn ducked out quietly to inspect the noise

Shiro flinched when he heard the noise and despite her warning he got up and followed her slowly. Had someone found him? But who? And why? Or was someone going to attack her? Shiro still did not remember her but she was nice to him so he would not let anything happen to her.
