Pleasant Day for a Walk

Gina let out a puff of air that forced the strands of hair that had fallen across her eyes to relocate elsewhere. She was sat to the side of the main road that ran through the village watching the people go about their business. A faint smile played about her lips as she narrowly avoided being run over by a man pulling a cart. He called back a hurried apology but by this time Gina was long gone; making her own way down the busy road.

She was dressed in her typical training wear; it was basically the same as the outfit she wore on missions minus the bandages that she wore around her torso and legs. She had just come from the training ground, once again trying to work out a way to bring out her second element. She was determind that by the end of the year that not only would she be able to use the wind element she would find a way to use it to complete missions.

A determind look on her face Gina continued forwards.

Without noticing other person on the other side, Naruto was on a pole watching the village with a smile on his face. "Need help old man?" He asked to the man that passed by with a cart in a rush.

"Who are you calling old!" Retorted the man slowing slightly to see who had called out to him. "Do I look old to you?!"

Hearing shouting Gina turned mid-step. She spotted the guy who had nearly run her over. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she got closer. She edged round the crowd until she was right behind the man with the cart. "Is everything alright?" Her voice was kind but contained a hint of her annoyance at having her peaceful walk disrupted. She was pretty much ignored by the man who was still shouting up at Naruto.

"Heh? S-Sorry." As the time after saying sorry naruto falled from pole. Or it looked liked it. As he keeped falling a clone grabbed his leg. "That was dangerous." He said while still hanging.

The man's anger seemed to desert him and mumbling he and his cart continued on their journey. Gina watched him go then turned all her attention on Naruto. "You know the ground is still considered a perfect substance to walk about on." She smiled. "Less dangerous too."

Naruto opened his eyes and looked at a girl that was standing in front of him. "Heh?" Naruto keeped looking at her without knowing her. Closing his eyes again he began thinking. "Did we ever met before?" He asked while still thinking.

Gina shook her head in disappointment. Obviously her memory was a lot better than his. She had realized who he was the moment she had spotted that big yellow head of his. Sighing she put her hands on her waste, shaking the strands of blue hair out of her eyes as she did so. "Nice to see you too, am I really that forgettable?"

"Heh?" Naruto keeped looking at her with a confused look on his face. "I don't remember." He said while scratching his head while the clone was still holding his leg.

Her eyes narrowed again. "Maybe if you make sure you're not about to hit the ground you might be able to think better." She tapped the pole with the tip of her shoe. "Besides it's annoying having to talk to someone who's upside down. Makes my head feel funny." Gina was severely tempted to kick the pole and make Naruto loose his balance but kept her temper in check.

"Oh. Ok." Naruto truned landing on his feet as the clone vanished. "There. But i still don't remember who you are." He said while walking around her trying to see who she is.

Gina stood still, her arms crossed across her chest, following Naruto with just her eyes. "I know it's been a while but I didn't think it would take you this long! And here's me thinking that that annoying brat I used to look out for might actually remember me."

Naruto get in front of her a bit angry "How is a brat?" He said while looking at her on her eyes.

"In a lot of ways!" She began to count on her fingers. "You'd never do what I told you. You never ate what I gave you. Every single time I took my eyes off of you you got in trouble." She smiled as a past memory came to her mind. "You really don't remember me?" This time she actually sounded hurt.

Naruto looked at her as his face started to become sad as her's. "I'm sorry. Ok? It might be long ago so...i really don't remember?" He said while looking at her.

Noticing that her attitude was becoming infectious she quickly plastered a smile onto her face. "Don't be so down about it. It was a long time ago, after all." She ruffled Naruto's hair. "Forget about it kid."

"I'm not a kid." He said while looking at her with a bit of anger for hearing her calling him a kid.

Gina's smile got bigger. "Course you're not." She put her head to one side. "Won't stop me calling you that though." She teased.

Naruto keeped looking at her a bit angry. "I'm not a kid anymore." He said while turning around.

Gina's hand shot out and grabbed hold of Naruto's shoulder, realizing what she had just done she quickly let her hand fall back down to her side. "Sorry." She apologized directing her gaze to the ground. "I just wanted to try and help you remember, I didn't mean to make you angry."

Naruto looked at her a bit sad since he couldn't see people getting sad. "I'm sorry." He said quickly trying to not let her be sad.

"Well we both can't be sorry. Against the law don't you know." She joked trying to lighten the mood. "Now, how can I get you to remember?" Her shoulder slumped slightly as she thought about it. Her eyes widened as it eventually came to her. "I've got it! You got time to come with me to the academy?"

Naruto looked at her a bit admired. "Academy? Now that you talk about it, i wonder how Iruka sensei is." He said with a smile.

"Then it's settled, we're off to the Academy! I'm pretty sure Iruka-san has a class right now but it will be time for lunch in a minute." She returned Naruto's smile. "Bet I can beet you there!"
And with that she was off, using the pole that Naruto had been standing on to catapult herself onto the rooftops of the surrounding houses. Jumped from roof to roof she ran in the direction of the academy.

"Wait!" Naruto quckly jumped in the air using the clones to throw him, gaining speed a tevery throw. "I'm going to arrive first." His competitive side as awakened, and the last thing he wanted was to lose.

"Not if I have any say in it!" Gina called back, increasing her speed. She knew the way to the academy with her eyes closed, she knew all the shortcuts.

As she ran she marveled at Naruto's use of clones. She had heard, mainly from Iruka-san, about Naruto's use of the shadow clone jutsu but she had never seen it. The Naruto she remembered hadn't even been able to make a single passable clone.
