The mermaid and the Heir

Naomi had just had a relaxing hotspring and gotten dressed again, she walked out of the hotspring with a relaxed smile as she scratched the kitten sitting atop her head "this place is so relaxing Tora" she talked to the kitten and Tora purred in response.

Naomi walked through the village, her mind carefree and relaxed, before long she was window shopping and her stomach growled "let's get something to eat Tora, what do you say?" Tora meowed excitedly and suddenly jumped off her head and sprinted off through the town "Tora where are you going?" she called and quickly spun on her heal to chase after her, but all she managed to do was to almost knock someone over "sorry mister, my cat just ran off" she laughed and dodged around the man chasing after her runaway kitten.

Shin had yet to make his return know to his family, of course he couldnt stop the whispers. All through the streets he heard the whispers, they thought he was some secret love child of Kinkai's. Shin hadnt aged a day since his disappearance two years ago so it was only natural people would whisper about a young man who is the spitting image of Yugakures wealthiest citizens.

Shin was so deep in thought that he hardly noticed a girl had bumped into him, or perhaps it was him who bumped into her. "Oh thats al...." before he could finish the girl was gone. He shook his head and headed off in the direction most strays went, the Fish market. The Girl was probably going to end up there, hopefully Shin could get his chance to apologies to her.

"Tora stop!" she laughed and kept chasing the run away kitten, The kitten must have been hungry because she stopped in front of a stall selling assorted fish "okay I take the hint Tora" Naomi giggled as she scooped the purring kitten into her arms, Tora settled on her shoulders with her tail wrapped around Naomi's neck.

Naomi smiled at the middle aged woman behind the store and let her eyes wander through the assortment of fish, it was lunchtime and her stomach growled. Naomi picked out some salmon and payed as the lady wrapped it up and handed it to her "time for lunch Tora" she nuzzles Toras cheek and started to walk down to the beach to enjoy there meal.

He had checked the fish market, the girl was not there. Shin wondered if he had missed her or she just wound up someplace else. He had been gone two years perhaps there was another place the felines hung out now?
Shin shrugged and pulled up his face mask, hiding part of his face might stop the instant whispers. 

'I haven't been to the beach yet maybe thats where she went!' he thought to himself. He glanced up and found her had collided into a girl with a cat. He was flat on his ass in the sand, looking over the damage he had done. " you alright?" he asked the girl. Was she the one he was looking for, he would need to see her from behind or hear her voice to confirm.

"Oww" she mumbled and rubbed the back of her leg where it had collided with a rock, she pulled her hand back to see it had blood on it and quickly lifted her leg that had trapped Tora, the kitten shook sand off her and climbed onto her stomach while Naomi looked up to see the man she had almost colided into before "I guess this makes us even" she giggled softly then cringed as she looked at the wound on the back of her leg, it was bleeding and had a fairly deep cut, she picked up the package of salmon and Tora and tried to stand but cried out in pain when she tried to put weight on her injured leg and fell back down on her butt again.

Shin was dusting himself off when he noticed the girl hadn't gotten up yet. He watched her try to get up only to fall backdown, was she injured? If she was injured it was his fault, it was his duty to help her get medical attention. Shin crouched down to her level "what are we dealing with?" he asked  curiously.

His eyes caught sight of the sand moments after he asked.  The white sand was splashed  red with blood. 'clean the wound and bandage it' he told himself. He reached into his chunin vest pocket and produced a small scroll labeled medical kit, he unsealed it and out popped the first aid kit. 
"right roll over so I can clean the wound" he said holding up a roll of bandages and water. 

Naomi placed Tora beside her and Tora muzzled her face in worry, Tora could always tell when she was hurt, she turned over so she was on her stomach and smiled while stroking Tora to distract her from the pain "it okay Tora just a little wound" Tora continued to purr then looked into the mans eyes like she could understand, the look in the kittens eyes said 'you hurt her and I'll hurt you' Tora really was a smart kitten.

Shin poured the water over the wound, washing the sand away. The rock had dug in deep, this wouldn't close up on its own. "I can tell already that going to need stitches" he said wrapping the leg up tightly. Shin made sure there was a good amount of pressure on the wound, hopefully that would slow the bleeding. 

Shin made a few hand signs and created an earth clone at the expense of most of his chakra. Elemental jutsu that were not fire based were extremely hard and taxing on members of his clan. He caught the cat staring at him "don't worry I am honor bound to make sure she is alright, so stop looking like your going to claw my eyes out" he said  to the cat. He looked to his clone " gently lift her legs, I'll take the torso" he instructed the poorly formed earth clone.  He looked down at the mystery girl " my names shin I'll be your human ambulance this evening ".

Toras ears twitched and she looked back at Naomi meowing once "he means no harm Tora" she cringed as the clone moved her injured leg "I hate needles" she shivered, they were her one fear "I'm sure it will heal on it's own there no need for stitches" she said hurriedly lightly tracing a finger over the bandage as she turned onto her back, raising her leg in the air slightly.

At the mention of his name she smiled "I'm Naomi and I'll be your passenger this this evening" Naomi giggled and lifted her arms up so he could carry her more easily.

He nodded stiffly, in his mind he was calculating the distance between them and the closest medical facility. They needed to move fast, the clone was durable but shin doubted it would hold for more than twenty ten minutes. Ten minutes to get the girl, to get Naomi to a clinic. 

The earth clone, not being the brightest took her legs and put them up on his shoulders. Shin sighed he didn't trust the clone to take the lead so he turn around and put Naomis arms around his neck. "clone face the other way, we can't have you starring at the ladies backside the whole trip" shin said sternly, he needed to be firm with this one after all it did have rocks for brains. The clone obeyed and on the count of three both the clone and shin returned to a standing position.

Naomi retained a smile most of the way except for the occasional burst of pain when the clone made a sudden move. Tora on the other hand hitched a ride on the clones head, she sat up straight as if watching the path ahead, Tora started purring when she saw people up ahead "looks like we're here" Naomi said cheerily and leaned her head back on Shin's chest "Arigato Shin sama, you didn't have to though, I owe you one" she moved her arms slightly, uncramping them then looked up uncertainly at Shin "I'm not getting a needle" she said firmly and hoped she was right.

The clone crumbled to dust just outside the clinic, most of it blew down the street. Shin let out a sigh, the clone had lasted but just barely. It irked him how handicapped his clan was when it came to utility jutsu. While the clans all consuming fire was great for offense it was damn near impossible to reign in for defense. The other elements were damn near impossible to use, he would pay the price now for making that clone. 

He broke out in a cold sweat, tremors went through his hands. He took a deep breath and exhaled, while Naomi offered him her thanks. She said he hadn't needed to bring her here but that was not true, if he had not let his mind wander she would never have fallen onto that rock. Honour demanded he make up for his mistake, and so he brought her here for treatment. 

'she doesn't want stitches but that gash looked pretty deep' he thought while doing his best to compose himself. He set his blue-green eyes on hers "we shall see what the doctor says, though I think you will need five to ten stitches". He opened the clinic door and helped Naomi into the waiting area, unsure if they would take them. His gaze went to the front desk it seemed like they had gotten new staff in his absence. "the lady fell and may need stitches, is the Doc around ?" he asked quickly praying that he was. 

As soon as she heard him say the word 'stitches' she paniced and waited for him to set her down. While he was talking to the lady she tried a quick escape. Naomi was absoulutly terrified of needles. Tora walked beside her as Naomi scrambled up on her non injured leg and procceded to try and hop away "i'm not getting and needles" she whispered to Tora and tried to hop away but clatered over a table and fell, Naomi gasped out in pain as she felt the wound open again and crimson blood coated the bandage. Tora mewed concerned and naomi knew she was busted, it had made a loud noise "I'm not getting a needle" she said firmly, sitting down on her butt and crossing her arms defiantly, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in her leg.

Shin frowned, this girl was unbelievable. He had carried her all the way here for treatment and when his back was turned she fled. He looked at the doctor whom had just walked in, he frowned as well. " nasty gash we have here" he said before turning around "follow me".  Shin walked over to Naomi and crouched down to meet her gaze. Pulling down his half mask he began to speak in an icy tone "you let him do what he needs to do or you can loose the leg".

He scooped her up and brought her into the sterile exam room. Shin sat her on the table and moved away, allowing the doc to have a look at her injury. Quickly the doctor cleaned out the wound tutting while he did. Shin wondered what he would do, stitches seemed like the logical choice but Naomi was strongly opposed to them. 'could always knock her out if she resists treatment' shin thought with a small grin.  

Naomi cursed under her breath as her cleaned her wound with a stinging solution and seeing her concern Tora mewed and made herself comfortable on Naomi's lap. She eyed the doctor with worried eyes as he turned around and reached up on a shelf, it was only when he turned with a needle and thread that her eyes widened and she firmly protested "your come any step closer and i'll freeze you where you stand" she announced defiantly, Naomi highly doubted that she would lose her leg and so turned her head and concentrated on the silver, metalic tap in the corner of the room. In a moment water started pooling out of the tap and Naomi grinned and raised a hand, moving her fingers as if summoning the water to come closer, and that is exactly what happened.

The water formed a bubble about the size of two fists and drifted almost lazily towards her, stopping when it was floating above her now open palm, Naomi faced the doctor and raised an eyebrow as if willing him to try anything with the pointed object in his hand, meanwhile Tora had curled up and was now napping peacefully on her lap.
