Question: Are you able to use canonical jutsus (e.g katon: goukakyuu no jutsu)? Because I haven't really seen that, pretty much everyone seems to register their own custom stuff, and the stickies don't really address this.

No Canon jutsu like rasengan or chidori, but you can make your own jutsus. So yeah, mostly custom stuff.

That seems slightly odd. Not allowing canon characters makes sense (though judging from the stickies a select few members are allowed to play them) but not having all the well established jutsu seems strange to me. What was the rationale behind this?

Since when was this a rule!? I understand high level, unique to a particular character, jutsu being a no-no but we're not supposed to use the others?

It's because the Rasengan and Chidori were overused and spammed by some of the members.. but I suppose since we have the Rank rules now, we could bring back the non-exclusive canon jutsus... Whaddaya think, Frankie?

I agree with not allowing Rasengan and Chidori and all the other jutsu that are pretty much unique to a canon character..but why not be allowed great fireball and the like? As long as the character is of rank obviously

But, I never knew there was a rule against that..so maybe this happened while I was away or this conversation is getting a bit muddled?

The Chidori (Sasukeeee and Kakashiiiii) and Rasengan (de Hokage and his son) were being OPed by people, so they had to be banned to prevent it...but common, low ranking stuff like fireballs is fine..
