"...what if I were gone for six years, and all we could do was write letters...would you still wait?" she asked softly, stroking his cheek with her finger.

why would i have to wait that long, if you can write letters why couldnt I see you " he asked

"Just because..." She sniffed. "So you wouldn't. Okay." She got off his lap and started to play with her fingers and toes.

" I would ... Id just like a reason as to why " he said with a shrug

"Does it really need a reason for us to be seperated? Ah...nevermind, this is useless. You wouldn't wait. So neither will I." She nodded and smiled. "How's Nami?"

Kaji blinked and folded his arms " Actually yes there does need to be a reason now give me one " he said sternly

She wiggled her toes in the water and watched them make ripples. "Maybe I had to go somewhere else because for once, people need me?"

" Okay...then yes Id wait for you " kaji said drawing figure eights in the water

"Maybe because I'm a medic nin who has lived close to forever, and there is something in my brain, among that grey matter, that can save someone... I wanna help people.

Im a medic now " he said trying to change the subject. when she talked about being away he felt sad. " im thinking about retiring as a ninja and just working at the hospital "

Kaji leaned back against the rocks and sighed " Nami has been good shes at her aunts for a visit "

"Is she eating well? What about sleep? Does she go to bed on time? Any nightmares?" she asked, hiding her worry.

" your such a mother hen " he chuckled patting her head.
Kaji smiled " Nami is a good daughter .... she wants a pet but I said no "

"Of course she can have one," Toshi said eagerly. "She can have Neko-mi and a bunny, or maybe a puma, or a jaguar, or a hellhound."

" No no she cant maybe when you move in " h said softly

"She will and can," Ushio huffed.

" I said No not until you move in and thats the final word " Kaji said narrowing his eyes

"Is this an invitation to move in or are you just messing me up?" she huffed again.

" you can move in now if you want" he said shrugging "its our house "

"You seem pretty carefree about it. No," she said, arms crossed.

People were somewhat amused around them; it was like a soap opera.

" fine reject me" he said, arms crossed over her chest and a frown plastered on his face

"Fine then," she echoed, turning her back to him.

Some of the bathers at first thought they were siblings. But then...

Kaji grabbed her shoulders and spun her around. he brought his lips down to hers for a hot kiss.
