Tanabata

Tanabata was held on the seventh day of the seventh month each year. It was to celebrate the love story of the daughter Orihime with Hikoboshi, who were only allowed to meet once a year on Tanabata. The two seperate sides of the sky would be connected by a bridge of magpies, whereby the would cross and meet.

The village Star center was bustling with stands and decorations and the shrine offeratory box was full with Ryo. Ushio dropped in a few notes and bought herself some ice cream while she waited for Kaji. That night, she wore a simple yukata of a green sakura pattern with a yellow obi. What was special with that night was that she was alone. No parents. No Kurama. Just her and Kaji-kun. The thought of being with him, just him for the night, made her smile.

Kaji walked up behind her and covered her eyes " guess who ."
He was dressed in black dress pants and a Jade green silk dress shirt which had the nara clan symbol on the back in black

"Nami-chan?" she joked, tilting her head. Ushio smiled and held his hands. "Danna?" Ushio pulled his hands off, turned around and whistled. "You look yummy." She smiled and hugged him. "I missed chuuu..."

kaji chuckled and ruffled her hair " you missed me ".

kaji knelt down and kissed her on the lips softly " you look good aswell Ushio - chan "

"Thank you, momma made the yukata for me," she said, then she answered his kiss with another. "You're so tall," she huffed, and therefore puffed.

" it comes with age and genes " kaji said standing straight again. " so what do you wanna do "

She pointed at the shooting range dreamily, then repeatedly pointed at a big stuffed ducky.

Kaji nodded " so you want the duck " he said taking her hand. he smiled " It will be yours "

She nodded eagerly. "Yup, the duck!" Ushio squeezed on his hand and followed.

kaji one her the stuffed animal easily " so whats next Ushio "

"Um...um...um, let's go get some ganmodoki," she said, hugging the ducky.

kaji gagged " you can have some ... tofu and me dont agree "

"I love fried tofu," she said, smiling. "Well, every couple needs to disagree on some things. Do you want takoyaki?" Ushio had bought herself a set of ganmo, and pointed to the takoyaki stand. "Or taiyaki?"

Kaji licked his lips " taiyaki " he walked over and bought a dozen " want some " Kaji asked bitting the head off the fish shaped food

The second he offered it, she devoured it one bite. Ushio licked her lips and wolfed down her fried tofu. "Mmm...festival food is awesome," she said happily, and bought some shaved ice. She held up a spoonful to his face with a smile. "Want some?"

Kaji crouched slightly and took the spoon into his mouth. he savored the taste "delicious" kaji mused before eating another taiyaki

Ushio ate, got a brain-freeze, and ate more. When she was done, she wiped his mouth with a little handkerchief. "What do you want to do next?"

kaji shrugged " I was never one for festivals " he said looking up to the night sky. " truth be told this is the first one Ive attended "

"Aww, you missed out a lot, Kaji-kun," she scolded, but smiling when she did. Ushio entwined her fingers with his and tugged lightly. "Let's go take a walk together."

Kaji shrugged and walked beside her his hand enclosing hers " I dont think I missed much I mean I never wanted toys as a kid and I could make any of the stand foods If i wanted to ". Kaji looked up again " and the tales to which most festivals are based on are a load of hogwash"

"Kaji-kun, that's not the point...to me, going to festivals is a way to spend special time with another, an opportunity to have a memory you can't forget, like eating festival food together and winning prizes..." She looked up at him, heartbroken behind her smile. "Like kissing as I tell you under the stars that I love you. Is that stupid too?"

" No " he said before putting his hand on the back of her head. Kaji pulled her close to him " but that was my idea " he flashed her a toothy grin before kissing her full on the lips

Ushio sniffed and wrapped her arms around his neck, holding him close. She kissed him back, soft and innocently. Ushio had led them to walk away to a remote part of the festival, hidden from the few others by a big tree.

Moonlight shone on them and Ushio pulled back to smile up at him. "I love you."

kaji smiled " I know you do ". he looked around no one in sight " tell me why have we come to such a remote place "

"Another c-couple t-tradition, specially f-for f-festivals o-only..." She blushed bright red and started to fidget.
