Meanwhile, In the Village Hidden in the Clouds. Kenji was yraining vigorously, trying to fuse the elements lightning and earth. He had heard rumors of what they would form, but he wanted to see for himself. Katsume, who had left him alone for several hours during his training, suddenly appeared and walked up to Kenji. "The Raikage had given you a mission. One of the Kaita clan members had been murdered, and you are needed to retrieve his body." At this, Kenji became worried.

"Has he been identified?"

Katsume looked down. "It was Genichi."

Kenji felt sick. He and Genichi had been on the same squad for he brief period they had been enlisted in the academy, and had been best friends ever since. "Where?"

"The Land of Fire. But, here, take this mask. We don't know if he was killed by Orochimaru or not, but if he was, he can't discover you're alive."

Katsume handed Kenji a black mask with a red salamander curling around the edge of it. On the forhead was the Hidden Cloud symbol. He took it and put it on. "Well, I'll be off. I'll contact you when I find it."

After a few days travel, Kenji arrived atop the mountain Genichi's body had been said was located. Rinnegan! Kenji looked around, and spotted a patch of fading chakra a little farther ahead of him. Kenji arrived there and looked down at him friend's body. Tears began to well up in his eyes, but he quickly tempered his saddness. He had been through so much with his family. He was such a gifted ninja. Then Kenji noticed a piece of paper on his chest. He bent down to pick it up. Doku. Poisen. Whoever did this... I'll find them, and I'll kill them. Kenji then summened a salamander, and told him to bring Genichi's bofy back to his village. I'm going to stay here and investigate.

Kenji looked in the direction of the Hidden Leaf Village. "I suppose that would be the best place to start investigating." He headed down to the village. As he stood at the gates, he suddenly remembered his mask. Wouldn't want to walk into the village with that on, I'd be attacked immediately. He removed his mask, and walked through the gates.
