A Shinobi Approaches

"I dunno... I earn money... I'm a Ninja... You're some kid..."
she snarled... "Anyway, Im tired so go away... or I'll burn
you so badly" she said angrily with fire in her eyes...

Shiro guessed she was really going to do it if he stayed so he went back to sit next to Kai, stroking his hair gently. Shiro put his head down next to Kai on the couch, sitting on the floor. How was he going to make up for all the things he made the elder miss?

Kai awoke a few hours later... "Ugh... What-What happened to me..."
he groaned, he wiped his face and yawned... It was obvious he had
fallen to sleep but so early... Something was wrong...

"Someone poisoned you... and Erika... she's sleeping in my bed", Shiro complained.
He sat on the floor, sulking. But it was mostly to hide how worried he was.
"How are you feeling?", he asked, getting up to give Kai a glass of water he had prepared.

"Dizzy." he replied... "My head hurts and so does my throat..."
Kai sighed and quickly drank the water Shiro had provided...
"I guess that must of been quite a shock..." he laughed.

"Quite a bit", Shiro pouted. He was not going to tell him about Erika's... attempt to get physical with him. "You should take care of yourself a little better", Shiro said, shaking his head. "Can I get you something?"

"No, I'll be alright a little fresh air will do me some good..." Kai sighed,
rubbing his aching forehead... He got up and walked to the open door,
Leaning on the door frame he inhaled and exhaled slowly.

Shiro watched him worriedly, then got up to see if Erika was still sleeping. Leaning over her he shook her shoulder to wake her up.

Erika turned over and growled at Shiro... "Damnit..." she mummbled,
she got up slowly and walked out the bedroom towards Kai, she wrapped
her arms around him and Kissed his lips, she then turned and looked
at Shiro and smiled.

Shiro went back to the two of them, glaring at Erika. "Thanks. And now leave. You messed up my day with him because you didn't take care. Get out", he growled, hating to have her around.

Kai picked up on what Shiro was saying but continued to stare out into
the town, he continued to lsiten to what was about to happen...
"I messed up your day! He's not your possession y'know! And
Don't tell me to leave!! It's not your house! Maybe you should get
out!" She violently snapped back at him.

"Well it was you who got me back here in the first place, so don't complain", Shiro hissed, glaring at her as though he was going to jump at her throat literally. "Get the fuck out, if he had not been staying with you he would not have been poisoned! It was probably your horrible cooking!", he added.

Erika stormed at Shiro "I don't cook! What because I'm a woman I have to
be in the kitchen?! So you're a Sexist as well as a street rat!" She shouted.
"And I only saved you because even someone as pathetic and disgusting as
you don't deserve that!"

Kai stood in Silence... He should do something but he just couldn't his legs wouldn't
move his mouth wouldn't open, and he stood in dismay as the two battles Savagely.

Her words hurt, mainly because Shiro thought them to be true.
"Well maybe you shouldn't have saved me, I could've handled it myself", Shiro lied.
He hated his voice for cracking and his eyes for getting wet.
He hated himself for looking so weak.
"Just get out of here", Shiro commanded, but it sounded like a very desperate plea.

Erika began shouting, "Why you little Brat?! Fine! You don't want
to be saved... I can handle that... If you want we'll just go back
there and I'll sell your ass for a fee... Is That What You Want?!"
she gripped his collar and pulled his face to her own to stare into
his eyes, "I could kill you with a single snap of the fingers and you
wouldn't be missed... You've become a Liability... A nuiscence...
A Disgusting Pest that is a drain on resources!" she lectured.

Kai had snook out just as Shiro had to began to talk, he felt it was
hard to choose between them and didn't know what to do... He
walked out of the village to the nearby river, took off his shoes
and placed his feet in the water... He did this all the time, it made
him feel calm...

Shiro knew situations like this all too well, he saved her words to be sad about them later, for now he ignored them. Instead, he needed to get away from her before she got dangerous. With all strength he could gather, Shiro kicked her right in the stomach - as she did not have balls to kick. "YOU don't have to be here if you mind my presence so much!", Shiro shouted at her. "Although you did not seem to mind earlier, did you?", he added, reminding her of when she had touched him.

Erika put her hand on her stomach and looked at Shiro angrily...
"That's it..." she grabbed his collar and punched him in his face
dragging him out of the door she pulled him out of the village
and took him to the nearby forest... "Leave now... Or I will
kill you... You pathetic little rat!" she screamed punching Shiro
in the Stomach, as he keeled over she elbowed him in the back
knocking him to the floor... Suddenly her nail began to glow red
and she used her burning hot nails to carve a word into Shiro's
back 'Deadman.' Before she left she kicked him as he was on the
floor and leant into him... "If I Ever EVER see you here again
I will kill you where you stand! UNDERSTAND?!"

When she punched his face Shiro felt dizzy, unable to struggle against her much while she dragged him away. They had reached a forest when suddenly she punched his stomach, causing him to gasp for air. The next hit sent the boy to the floor and before he could get up a hot, searing pain shot through his back. she carved his skin with... something. Shiro screamed in pain, his hands clawing into the ground. He sobbed when she was done, trembling and still in pain. Nodding just to make her go away he crawled away from her. It was so cold... and he was so alone...

Erika walked triumphantly back, she had won, he would never return...
The note 'Deadman.' that she had carved in his back was a note to
assassins to kill anyone marked with it... After all She too had one on
her back but managed to get herself off by crossing it out... She began
to try and search for Kai but couldnt find him

Shiro did not know what Erika hat carved into his back but he knew it was a word, not only scratches. He was still sobbing, hiding in the bushes. Where would he go now? What should he do? He was in pain and afraid. But at the same time, he wanted to see Kai. Maybe only once more to say goodbye... Not now, however. Instead, Shiro lay flat on the ground, letting it cool his burned skin and waited for the pain on his back and his stomach to go away. What was Kai doing? Would he miss him? Would he search for him?

Kai had already fled to the mountains in the east away from everybody,
he stood at the top of the mountain in the pouring rain shouting at the
heavens "Who?! WHO SHOULD I CHOOSE?!"
