She gulped, and followed, cowering behind him.

Karkien closed his eyes and throwed the flame into the dark. "Fire Art; Flying Candles." As he finished saying that, the tunnel became full of light with flying flames near the walls. "You better watch the steps too."

"Steps? Are we going down?" Toshi looked down at her feet, then at the hard ground.

Karkien nooded with a smile while going down.

Toshi gulped and followed, looking around, scared.

"It's ok. I'm not evil. Don't worry." He said with a calm tone of voice and a smile on his face.

"I'm not scared of that...it's just...I'm kind of claustrophobic(sp) and this cave is...provoking my fear..."

Karkien looked around a bit worried before placing his hand on the wall. "Glass Walls!" As he said that, the walls of the cave looked like turning into glass showing all the river.

Toshi sighed with relief, a bit embarrassed by her silly phobia. "...thank you," she muttered, as she followed him down.

Karkien just smilled as keeped going down stoping in front of a door.

"....?" Toshi looked at the door questioningly, then up at Karkien, holding tight to his shirt.

Karkien just touched the door with one finger as it opened slowly without making a noise.

'....this reminds me of a horror story,' Toshi thought as she hid behind him, whimpering.

Karkien steped inside. "Come on in."

"Eep." Toshi squeaked, and followed him in, just like the little kitten she had seen that afternoon.

Karkien showed a big living room with red and golden wallpaper and a red carpet. "Welcome." He said with a smile.

Toshi whimpered a little. "You live under a river? Don't you like sunshine?" she asked, standing awkwardly.

"Oh. Please take a seat." He said pointing to a black couch while heading into the kitchen.

"...um..." Toshi fidgeted some more, and perched on the edge of her seat nervously.

Karkien left the kitchen with two cups of tea on his hands.

Toshi looked up at Karkien as he came back. She was tongue-tied and didn't know what to talk about. "...."

"Here. Drink this." He said while giving her a cup of tea.

Toshi bowed her head and took the cup gratefully. "Thank you, Karkien."

Karkien just smilled while looking at her. A peacfull smile on his face. Like there was nothing to fear.

Toshi looked around as she drank her tea. "Why do you live underground?"
