Best friends, always. (Naka and Yuudai)

[color=yellow]"Yuu-chan?"[/yellow] Toshi looked up at him with brown eyes, smiling sadly. "You sound like Kaji."

"Toshi" he said holding up his pinky, "The fires of love but the strong bond of friendship will hold no matter what the other person may say, weither they want it to be broken or not. Friends last longer than lovers"

Toshi smiled weakly and linked her pinky finger with his. "I want to be best friends with you...but you don't want to. You said you had no friends. I still want you as my best friend..."

"No matter the word or action I give, our friendship will be there. No matter if I say it is not or even if I hurt you physically or emotionally. Our bond of friendship will hold."

Toshith sniffed, and blinked rapidly. Her eyes started to turn back to brown and so was her hair. "Yuudai.... can I be the flower girl for your and Ember's wedding?"

"Sure Toshi, but a me and Ember aren't getting married for a long time. Our friendship may never break, but I have goals to persue, and if I achieve my goal, I won't be allowed to be seen anywhere in public because of what I did. If I achieve my goal, I probably won't be able to get married."

"It took me and Aiden a year to track you down, a few more won't hurt." She rubbed her eyes and looked up at him. "If you hurt her, I'm going to kick Little Yuudai."

"Meh, first I gotta hurt her, then you have to find out, third you'd have to track me down, fourth you could try to, but I highly doubt you would be able to kick me in the nads." *smile like ^_^*

"Oh yeah, then let's practice," she joked, grinning.

"Nah, I don't want to hurt you anymore. Physically or emotionally, because I know what genjustu to put you in and you don't want that, do you? Besides, I need to get movin' soon."

"Then...let me enjoy my time with you," she said, trapping him in a tight hug. "You're my best friend, Yuudai, and I'll love you always."

"But you're getting married to Kaji aren't you? If you have a child you won't be able to see me for almost eighteen years or more, by then I will be forgotten." he pulled away from the hug and stepped away, it looked a lot like the genjustu he put on her last time they sparred. "Maybe our paths will cross again, Toshi-chan. Maybe not, but I want you to know I will always love you" he then started running away into the forest.

'Don't they get it? Just because I love one doesn't mean I have to be with him.' Toshi frowned and weakly got up. It was time to start fighting for her best friend. She took a deep breath and started running after him, matching his speed.

By this time Yuudai was sprinting at full speed, he glanced back and thought he saw Toshi but he figured it was his imagination. He got to his camp, doused the fire because he was near a small pond he scooped suome up with a cup he had and tossed it on the water, packed up his drying clothes that were on a branch, destroyed the small shelter he buily by kicking it, slung his backpack over a shoulder and continued sprinting again. This little detour gave Toshi plenty of time to cover more ground.

Toshi was no little, weak soul under that innocent mask. You had to be strong if you wanted to survive the Akuma, especially if you are the host of the First Demon. "Yuudai!" She made clones to help her launch forward and lunge at him.

Yuudai looked back at the sound of her voice. He saw her launched and comming toward him, just when she would've hit him to the ground, he jumped back a small distance and asked, "What are you doing?"

"I ... am NOT going to let you slip away from me again, Yuudai!" she said, getting up and pouncing again. "Do I look that weak to you?!"

When she got close Yuudai simply pivited and placed a hand on the back of her head, forcing her to the ground, "I do not see you as week Toshi-chan. Just not as strong as myself."

"Hmph!" Toshi huffed, and her wings split from her back to push him off. She got up, retracted her wings and grabbed a handful of his shirt, holding him up off the ground.

Yuudai let her pull him up, he was still standing but she had a fistfull of his shirt,"Tell me Toshi. What is it you want most?"

Toshi sniffed and blinked back tears. "I want you, Ember and Kaji to be together."

"Heh heh" and Yuudai started laughing a little, "Sorry" he said looking into her eyes with sharingan, "This genjustu is going to become relaity" then Yuudai put her in the genjustu where Toshi was in the darkness and in two differents, one to her left Kaji was in and the one to the right was Yuudai. They were both smiling, but then Yuudai got a serious face and began walking into the darkness fading while he was leaving. You could hear his footprints turn into a run. Then the genjustu was released, when Toshi saw Yuudai he was smiling like he used to at her, his hand was on her shoulder and she didn't have a fistfull of his shirt. It was just like old times when it was just them and no one else to care about when they didn't have a care in the world but each other.

"Stop scaring me like that!" she huffed, hitting him lightly though it wouldn't hurt a bit. "You're such a meanie!"

His face turned serious and removed his hand from her shoulder. He started turning and said, "Sorry Toshi. End of the line. I don't think we'll ever meet again" then he went from walking away to running to sprinting away.

'Dammit, Toshi, stop letting him slip away!' came a feminime, scary voice in her mind.

Somehow, something else was controlling her movements. She started running quickly, and wouldn't stop. "Lilith, STOP!"

'Honey, you're too sweet to deserve all the pain I attract...'
