The other two men of course noticed what the boy was doing. Grinning widely one of them knelt besides Tsukiakara, exposing himself to the boy. "Do something useful with that sweet little tongue of yours, boy", he said and grabbed Tsukiakara's jaws hard, so the boy could not bite him.

Misaki screamed and cried, it was the first time this happened to him. Shiro had always protected him from this. However, suddenly, the man on top of him collapsed besides Misaki, a blade pierced right through his chest. The men holding down Shiro were gone, too and Misaki crawled over to him and held on to his chosen elder brother, watching strangers kill the men over at Tsukiakara.

“It’s about time you showed up!” grateful at the sight of Valley Ninja Black Ops. Tsukiakara tried to get up but he was still in pain and clasped into an unconscious state. The sleep pills had finally caught up with him. The Anbu picked up Tsukiakara. Meanwhile the other Anbu went over to Misaki and Shiro. “Your going to have to come with us”, one of them said. They picked up Shiro and Misaki clearly seeing that they were exhausted and began traveling toward Tangikure.

Misaki was only afraid but Shiro was obviously in pain, he was bleeding and trembling, holding on to the man carrying him. "He needs help", Misaki sobbed, he was afraid Shiro was hurt so badly he was not going to get well.

The Anbu nodded and stopped. One of the Anbu began healing Shiro with medical ninjutsu. “Ok, that a quick patch but he will need further healing at the hospital. The other Anbu nodded and they continued their coarse.

When most of the pain was gone, Shiro passed out. He had enough of all this, he did not want to hear or see or feel anything right now. In the meantime he had noticed that he had not been able to protect Misaki. How could he ever forgive himself? The younger boy silently watched Shiro why they were being carried towards the village. He found himself accusing Shiro of letting him alone but knew it was not his fault.

When Tsukiakara woke up he was in a hospital bed. He sat up and looked around the other two boys were on other hospital beds on the opposite side of the room. Tsukiakara laid back down. It must have been a few days the last time he actually laid on a bed. Now that his entire home is wiped out he would have to seek permanent housing in Tangikure. A nurse came in with some food for the three boys. Now that they were actually safe, Tsukiakara wondered what Shiro and Misaki would do next.

Shiro stared at the wall, he did not move. He had been healed up completely but something inside him was still broken. Misaki was sitting in his bed, watching the elder with worry. When he noticed Tsukiakara had woken up, he smiled at him. "We're safe now, aren't we? They won't come here, right?", he asked before thanking the nurse for the food. Shiro's was placed on the nightstand.

“No, they won’t come here” Tsukiakara reassured the boy. Latter in the day, Tsukiakara was taken to be questioned on the recent events that he answered the best he could. After the questioning Tsukiakara wondered the streets looking for an apartment to rent. He wondered what happened to Shiro and Misaki after they were separated.

Shiro still had not moved from the spot. While Misaki had been walking through the hospital, observing curiously, Shiro had not even eaten. After a while Misaki returned, hoping Tsukiakara would come back to them because he did not know what to do with Shiro.

As Tsukiakara walked through the streets he pass by the hospital. “I guess there’s no harm to check if they’re still there” He said as he walked to the hospital. As he went inside he saw Misaki. “Hi, Misaki is Shiro still here?”

Misaki smiled at Tsukiakara, when the boy came back. "I thought you had left us alone", he said and looked sad for a moment. "Shiro's still in his bad. He won't talk", he said, dragging the boy towards Shiro.

When Misaki took him to the room he saw Shiro still in bed. He went to his side. “Shiro, what’s wrong? We’re safe now. You can get out of bed.”

Shiro only shook his head. It was more of a movement than Misaki had managed to get from him in a whole day. Sad and worried the boy sat down on Shiro's bed, watching the two elder boys talk.

“Do you want to talk about it? Was it something I did?” Tsukiakara said. If his silence kept up he was going to have to play 20 questions with him till he got a reaction.

Shiro shook his head again. He did not want to talk. He felt lost inside himself, caught somewhere between pain, fear and self-accusation. A tear rolled down his face when he looked at Misaki, he felt so sorry that he had let him get hurt.

Maybe he could talk if Misaki left the room. “Misaki go to the nurse in the lobby. She usually gives out candy.” Tsukiakara said to Misaki.

Misaki smiled and ran out of the room, eager to get his hands on some candy.
When the boy had left Shiro let out a barely audible sigh and moved for the first time that day, rolling onto his side and curling up. He started crying.

“Do you want to talk about it now? Is it about Misaki?” Tsukiakara asked hoping that there was going to be an answer this time.

Nodding and hiccuping Shiro curled up a little tighter, not looking at Tsukiakara.
"I didn't protect him", Shiro whispered, regret and guilt in his voice.

“You tired your best and in the end it’ s the effort that count.” Tsukiakara tiring to comfort Shiro as best he could. “What are you two planning on doing after you leave the hospital”

Shiro was still disappointed of himself but he knew it was all everyone was going to say. He had to make up for it, he would care for Misaki. "I don't know. Neither of us has a place to stay. I guess I'll just... maybe I'll find someone who pays me. Then I could get Misaki at least a room to live in", Shiro said.

“If you like Misaki could stay here in Tangikure. He could get an education and those men won’t be able to get him. You could come and vist if you are able to. What do you say?” Tsukiakara asked.

Shiro hesitated but then he nodded again. "That would be good for him", he said.
It hurt that he would have to leave Misaki behind. He did not want it.
But it was selfish to take Misaki with himself while the boy could live a good life here.
"Will he live with you?", Shiro asked, hoping someone would look after his 'little brother'.

“He could if that’s what you want.” Just then Misaki came back with an armful of candy.

Misaki beamed at Tsukiakara and put the candy on his bed, sitting down next to it.
Shiro smiled at him. "I would like that", he replied to Tsukiakara. "Maybe... if I find some place for me... I might be able to visit him some time..." It would be the first time in four years that the two of them would be separated for more than a few days.
