Death Sword Scroll (May get Mature)

"Where are we going?", Misaki asked, feeling slightly uneasy. Could he trust this boy? Maybe he was even worse? After all, whom could he trust at all, he was seven, maybe eight or only six, he did not really know. How would he know who was a good person if he did not even know his own age? Misaki tried to get off the boy's back but the elder was still walking.

“Somewhere safe” Tsukiakara answered. When they finally arrived at the inn, he let Misaki off his back. He entered the inn went to the lady behind the desk. “I’m Hakujin Tsukiakara, I believe I have a reservation.”

“You do indeed sir” she said as she handed him a key. “Room 5 sir”.

Tsukiakara bowed in respect then walked to Room 5. “I wonder if Shiro is already in here” Tsukiakara said as he put the key into the door.

Shiro sat in the corner of the room on the floor, hidden behind a small cupboard.
He was very distrustful and wanted to see who entered and what they were up to.
When he noticed the boy enter, he flinched, remembering the torture he had gone through very recently. However, he also noticed the little kid clinging to the boy...

"Misaki!", Shiro said, surprised, crawling out from the corner.
The boy ran towards him, hugging Shiro and crying.
Shiro's look was worried as he tried to comfort the boy.
Of course he had noticed the bruises on his face.
"Did you... do something to him?", Shiro asked, afraid he might be punished by the boy if he was impolite.

Tsukiakara locked the door behind him. “If by something you mean rescued him from that guy we saw earlier then yes. You two must be hungry here.” He took out a scroll and land it flat on the ground. He then bit his thumb and smeared the blood on the scroll. A cloud of smock appeared and when the cloud dissipated a array of food appeared. “and now it is time for formal introductions, my name is Tsukaikara”

The two boys stared at the food and hungrily started eating. They looked more like animals than humans as both of them were starving. But it was noticeable that Shiro was careful not to take anything Misaki wanted, he always let the younger have the first go at their 'buffet'. When the worst feelings of hunger were saturated, Shiro looked up at their saviour. "I'm Shiro and this is Misaki", he said.

“Now you two better get some sleep.” he said pointing to the two beds. “I going to keep watch just in case that man is able to find out where we are.” Truth was that Tsukiakara had hardly had any sleep ever since this ordeal began. Luckily he had some pills that allowed him to stay awake with the drawback that he would temporality lose chakra the more he had to use them. “Sleep, we have a big day tomorrow. We’ll be heading back to my clan’s grounds where Shiro will be carrying out his community service.”

Both boys nodded, eating a little more before going to bed. They were both using one, snuggled up against each other. Shiro protectively held Misaki in his arms. It was a tough night for both of them. Misaki woke up in pain now and again and Shiro comforted him while he himself was twitching in his sleep, plagued by nightmares.

Tsukiakara didn’t lay on his bed but sat on the side of the wall so he could he the footsteps in the hallway. He would prepare himself whenever he heard footsteps coming their way but would then return sitting when he heard them pass by. When it became a later hour when most of the patrons were sleeping, Tsukiakara took out the locket and stared at it.

It was in the middle of the night when Shiro woke up, suddenly jerking to a sitting position. His heart was racing and he seemed to have a hard time breathing. Not noticing Tsukiakara was still awake Shiro started to cry silently, he had lived through a very vivid nightmare and was overtired and afraid. Making sure not to disturb Misaki's sleep Shiro crawled to the corner of the bed, leaning against the wall his legs drawn to his body and his arms hugging his knees.

“You can use this bed if you like. The Gods know I’m not.” Tsukaikara whispered as he continued to sit there.

Shiro flinched when he heard the boy's voice.
"I'm fine", he said, crawling back to lie beside Misaki.
He would not let his chosen little brother alone.
Who knew what this Tsukiakara would do to him.
Both of the boys had been through enough to not trust any strangers.

“Suit yourself”, Tsukiakara said as he continued to stare at the locket.

In the morning Tsukiakara put his locket away took another pill. He then went over to Shiro and Misaki to wake them up.

Both of them woke up reluctantly, Misaki being quicker than Shiro as he had slept better.
Hugging Shiro Misaki tried to wake the elder up, who was rather grumpy.
"Good morning, Tsuki-kun", Misaki said, his voice barely more than a whisper.
He could not remember the boy's whole name but hoped the elder would not mind.

“Are you good to go or do I need to prepare breakfast first. It will be a couple hour walk.” Tsukiakara asked.

"I don't need breakfast. Misaki, do you want something?", Shiro asked.
The younger shook his head, he did not want to make Tsukiakara wait.
Both of the boys were still afraid of being punished, Shiro way more than Misaki.
"If he gets tired I'll carry him. We won't cause trouble", Shiro said, getting up.

“Ok, then we better get going.” He led them out of the room. He then paid the lady behind the desk for the room and returned the keys.
Tsukiakara then led them out of the village and onto the path to his clan’s grounds.

At first all was well but Misaki was slow and after half an hour he was already tired.
Shiro carried him on his back, although he was exhausted soon he did not put him down.
There was no way he would give that boy a reason to leave Misaki behind.
However after another thirty minutes Shiro could barely take another step.
He was not asking for a break just yet but he was breathing hard and clenched his teeth to walk on.

Tsukiakara could see that the two were tired. “Lets take a breather” He then bit his thumb and summoned another array of food from his scrolls.

Shiro let Misaki get off his back and broke to his knees. He was completely exhausted. The boy had become rather heavy, despite the lack of food. He was not the little kid he had used to be a few years ago.
Misaki literally jumped at the food, eating hungrily, while Shiro tried to catch his breath. When Misaki was almost done eating, Shiro started, slowly so he could have a little more time to rest.

Tsukiakara took one piece of meat on a bone and stood back up. The last thing he wanted is for someone to attack them while they're the most vulnerable. He began eating the meat looking around every so often.

When Shiro was done eating he got up although he was still tired.
"Are you ok Misaki? Are you still tired?", he asked, offering himself to carry him again.
Misaki poked him in the belly. "I'm fine", he said and grinned at Shiro.

They continued on the trail for a couple of more hours. They were about a couple of minutes away for his clan’s grounds when suddenly Tsukiakara noticed something was wrong. “Do you smell that?” he asked, “It smells like something burning but why does it smell so bad?” Tsukiakara picked up the pace and started running not caring if Shiro and Misaki were to escape.

Shiro was carrying Misaki again who had fallen asleep.
When Kai moved ahead of them Shiro thought of escaping but for now that boy was their only source of food and protection, so he followed him. Careful not to wake Misaki up, Shiro kept his pace low, only slowly catching up with Tsukiakara. What was going on?

Tsukiakara was in shock of what he saw that he couldn’t even hear Shiro. The home he once knew had became a dark graveyard of burnt ashes. He could see burnt bodies indicating that there was a battle before the entire place was burnt to the ground. He walked toward some of the bodies. They were so burnt up that he couldn’t even tell whether they were a Hakujin or not. There was a hilt of a sword laying near one of the bodies. This sword was Soul Binded, a jutsu that destroys a sword if the owner dies. He continued to look around. It appeared that whoever or whatever attacked took what ever swords that weren’t destroyed when the owners died also before they burnt the surrounding area.

Shiro was pale when he looked at what had happened.
He knew who was responsible for that and if his guess was really right they all were in trouble just by being here. By being anywhere in this country. This was bad. Approaching Tsukiakara, still taking care Misaki was not going to wake up and see all this, Shiro cleared his throat. "We have to leave. They'll be searching for you already", Shiro said. No matter how unimportant Shiro was to the organization as a whole, the boss did not like if someone took away his favourite toys. Both Shiro and Tsukiakara were going to get punished if he found them. "Maybe they're still close. Please we have to leave", Shiro begged.
