Death Sword Scroll (May get Mature)

Misaki stopped crying, he did not want to upset Muki, but inside he felt still afraid and lonely. Muki was nice, but she was only a girl. Shiro was his brother, he had been his brother for such a long time and he had helped Misaki so much... "Will you help me find him?", Misaki asked. "I don't want to go away, Muki. If he can't go, I don't want to go either. We can find him and go with him together or not at all. Please, Muki."

Muki thought for a bit. She wanted an adventure on the ocean but she just one in the land of rivers was fine too. It wasn’t like she had any parents now. “Ok but were going to need to pack backpacks. It might be a long trip.” She said.

Misaki nodded, glad she was willing to help him. As people were already packing, nobody noticed Misaki strolling over to a pile of baggage, grabbing what was closest to him. One for himself and one for Muki. The bagpacks were heavy but that only meant they were full. Checking quickly Misaki nodded. "There's everything we need, food and weapons and a warm blanket. We don't have clothes to change but we'll find something. All their homes will be left alone now, so we can just get us stuff there", he suggested, whispering.

“Can we make a stop at the library before we go?” She asked. She wanted to make some last minute checkouts that were not going to be returned. She lifted the heavy backpack and was waiting for Misaki’s answer.

Misaki frowned at her. "Books? We're going to be in danger of dying and you think about books...", he mumbled and shrugged. "Fine, wherever it is, we can go there."

“Thanks” She said and gave him a quick glomp with one leg in the air. “Come on before they notice there stuff is gone.” She said running up the stares to the deck.

Misaki chuckled and ran off with her, quickly getting off the boat and hiding until the street was clear for them to leave.

They continued this, running from one hiding place to another so they no one would see them. Especially the ninja who were assigned to bring such naughty kids back to the boats. But they were able to make it to the library undetected. Muki pulled the handles of the door. “It’s locked” she said disappointed.

"Then we'll take another way inside", Misaki said and shrugged. Muki did not know much about him but now she was going to see something he was good at. Moving around the building Misaki soon found what he had been searching for. He climbed onto a window sill and fetched a piece of wire from his pocket, using it to trip the latch and let the two of them in.

“That’s cool” Muki said amazed the Misaki knew how to pick locks. “It will only take a sec.” She said running into the darkness of the library. She wanted some of her favorite book so she knew by heart where they were located in the library.

Misaki waited by the window, watching the surrounding area in case someone was coming. However, everything was quiet, nobody was close, so nobody would notice they had just broken into the library.

A few minutes passed and Muki came out of the library and went were Misaki was. “Ok now we can start looking. If what Tsuki said was true and Shiro did break out of prison then he’s probably not going to come back here anytime soon. So I would start the search by leaving the village and looking in the forest. What do you think?”

Misaki nodded. "We should go to another city. He would probably go to one of the people he has been working for. For protection", he explained. One of them was dead, but there were more, Misaki knew.

“The best way out of the village is where our hiding spot in school was. Let’s go.” She said leading the way.

Misaki followed her, still careful nobody would notice them. "You have to get us to the city and there I will try to find help, okay?", Misaki said, trying not to be as useless.

Instead of going in the school Muki lead them simply around it. They went to the familiar stream that they had played at the other day. “Ok we go up stream and well will find a water tunnel. It should be big enough for us to fit.”

Misaki nodded and followed her. He remembered sitting here with her and smiled, although their situation was completely different now. When they had talked about her running away from home, neither of them would have thought her parents would die so soon...

They walked a bit to the wall that surrounded the entire village. Like Muki said this little stream had an opening in the wall just big enough to fit a small child, which they were. She went into the cold water first. Shivers went up her spine but nonetheless she turned to Misaki. “this way” She said as she started crawling through the water.

Misaki was not sure if what she did was a good idea but she followed her. What if they drowned in there? He could not swim - and in the tunnel was barely enough space to breathe above the water anyways.

The current was fast but still not enough to push Muki down. At least the width of the wall was not that big and she made it too the other side. She got out of the water soaked and cold. She peered back in to see if Misaki was having troubles.

Misaki made his way behind her, following quickyl so he would not lose her. He had no idea what was on the other side or what way they were going to take. He just had to trust Muki knew what she was doing and where she was going - which was not very likely considering she was the same age as Misaki was.

Find out where they were going wasn’t the priority. The priority was to get as far away from the village as possible so that they wouldn’t get caught by ninja. “This way” She said choosing to continue to follow the stream into the dark forest.

Misaki followed Muki, not questioning her lead.
After a while he got tired, but he did not complain.
Eventually he groaned or muttered something, hoping she would at least slow down.

When the moaning and groaning was coming from Misaki she stopped. The walls of the village were no longer in site. “We need to get a fire going or we’ll freeze to death by night fall.” She said setting her backpack down. She unzipped it and took out a book, ‘How to Survive in the Wild’. She started flipping through the pages looking for the section where how to make a fire was.

Misaki nodded and went off searching for wood. He had learned how to start a fire when he had been travelling with Shiro and other guys but he was not sure if he remembered everything he needed. When he returned with an armload of wood, he noticed Muki's book. "What does it say?", Misaki asked.
