The Quest For Power

Yuudai groaned and turned. Then snored. When Aiden had closed the door and walked away, Yuudai got out of bed, picked up the note he wrote to Toshi and Aiden, then put his backpack on his back and snuck ou to the kicthan. When he got there he layed the note down on the kicthen table and grabbed a few instant raman cartons. He then headed out the door and walked slowly.

Toshi sneaked downstairs after Aiden had checked her room. She poked her head around the door and looked in shock as she saw Yuudai leave the note.

The note read:

Dear Toshi and Aiden,
I'm sorry to say this and i'm sorry for lying to you Toshi, but I'm leaving the village for a year to train in all the other villages to get stronger. And when i return I will have with me the head of Asmo. As I said I am sorry for leaving and lying, but its the only way to stop Asmo from eating Toshi.

P.S. : Aiden I hope you don't mind but I took some instant raman so I don't starve for the first few weeks
P.P.S.: I might visit twice
P.P.P.S: By the time you read this it will be morning and I will be at the gates reading to leave. I am taking my time to go around and buy some extra sulpiles.

As she read, the note shook in Toshi's hand. Her knees buckled, and she dropped to her knees. "No... Yuu-chan... Killing is bad," she whispered, wiping her eyes sadly. "Don't leave me like this..."

Aiden came back down. He knew what happened. He knew everything of Toshi, so he knew about the note too. 'Don't die on me, kid. That guy plays dirty....be careful.'

He sighed, and picked up the heart-broken girl. "He'll be alright. I know he will."

Toshi sniffed, nodded and smiled weakly. "Y-yeah... I'll wait for him at the ends of earth if I have to! He wouldn't want me sad..." She sighed, then added in an inaudible whisper, "I love you, Yuu-chan..."

Yuudai looked back at the mansion and then continued walking. "Don't worry Toshi I'll come back." He then decided to hurry and get out of the village. After he got everything he needed he hoped that they did start looking for him, just so he didn't forget the reason of his travels. As he walked out the gates of the hidden leave village he thought, 'Net stop! Suna!' and started sprinting toward the east. Where sunagakure was located. East of Kohona.

( Aiden is. Toshi says he'll be back, but Aiden wants him back sooner =D )

Aiden had matured over the year Yuudai was gone. His hair was spikier, his eyes wiser, and his body bigger. He had been searching for Yuudai agains Toshi's protests. She was smiling everyday, but he always caught her staring off into space when it was the usual time she spends with the Uchiha.

That day, Aiden had dragged Toshi with him to check a village where sightings of a young Uchiha were reported.

"Come on, kid..."

Toshi was wrapped in a cloak, tight, and it was impossible to see what it was inside. "Yeah, yeah..."

Over the year he was gone Yuudai matired too. He had the body of a runer. He had gone to every other village to train, and even now he almost has third level sharingan. As he was walking back into the village gates he was wearing a black cloak, but under he wore the same types of clothes just different sizes.

Toshi's hair had changed only a little. It was less boyish, and framed her still-childish face. She had grown taller, but her body ratio didn't change either. No bust, no butt. But her smile was still as pure and innocent as it was a year past. 'Ooh, a butterfly!' As she wandered away from Aiden while he questioned some villagers, she bumped into another cloaked man. Her hood came loose, and showed her face. "Oh, sorry!" she apologized, smiling sweetly up to the hidden face.

Yuudai looked down, "Toshi? Is that you? You've grown so much! Where is Aiden? I thought the old man would be with you."

Toshi brushed the hair from her eyes, but she didn't recognize him. His voice had gone a few tones deeper, manlier. "Um, there," she said, pointing to Aiden. "Let's go meet him, then...?"

Aiden walked up to him, then eyed the cloaked man with shock. 'I'm still taller, but still...he grew.' "Uh. Hi."

"You old coot! Its me! Yuudai Uchiha!" Yuudai pulled back his hood revealing his headband around his neck and his hair.

"YUUDAI!" Toshi's face split into a huge smile, and she pounced on Yuudai, hugging him tight. Her arms were tight around his neck, and she was kissing him like there was no tomorrow. "WE FOUND YOU!"

"Uhh, let him breathe," Aiden said, chuckling. He tried prying the young girl off of Yuudai, but she still kept on showering him with kisses.

"Okay okay! Yes I'm back. But myy goal will be reached tonite." He hugged Toshi tightly too. She was the thing he missed the most.

"Hm? Okay, okay." Toshi was grinning wide, hugging him back. She had forgotten the whole reason he had left. But Aiden hadn't.

The demon frowned slightly. "I know you're stronger than how we will expect...but be careful. He plays dirty..." he whispered so Toshi wouldn't hear.

Yuudai let go of the hugs and asked Aiden, "What s the point intrying to hide it? Toshi if you forgot the reason I left was so I could behead Asmo. And tonite its going to happen." Yuudai grinned evilly at the thought of finally killing Asmo.

Toshi blinked in shock and jumped away from him. That smile...it was just...wrong. Her image of him was shattered. She knew he liked her, but to go that far to kill? "N-no..." she muttered. "B-but, you...ah...no.." She hid behind Aiden trying to get that smile out of her mind.

Yuudai got rid of the weird smile he had and said, "Tonite, Asmo will be dead. I'll make sure of it."

"B-but... Yuu-c... Yuudai, killing is bad," she whispered. She didn't even have the will to call him Yuu-chan anymore. He had changed. A lot.

"Toshi did it ever occure to you that Asmo wants to kill you?" he said in the same soft voice as a year ago.

Toshi frowned and shook her head. "He just wants to eat me...that doesn't mean he wants to kill me." She felt more relieved as he sounded more like the Yuudai she knew and loved so much.

Yuudai kept sounding like he was last year,"If he ate you. I don't know what I would do. I want tokill him because when I do, I can go to sleep knowing that you don't have any chances of dying. I left for a year fir mine and yours sake."

Toshi looked away, ashamed. In the end, it was her fault, she deduced. It was her that drove him to do it. "I see... Okay. I won't stop you," she said, smiling weakly up to him. Still loving, and still trusting, but no longer hopeful. "I love you, Yuudai."

"You too Toshi. Now I'll be in the forest
of death fighting Asmo. Fell free to come watch." and he jumped away. When he ggot to the forest oof death, he waited for Asmo to show up and try to kill him again.
