The Guard, and the Assassin (EXile and Nbird)

Muki could barely keep her eyes open. She was assigned to a very low level noble who had hired the Valley for some protection. He didn’t pay very well so the only thing the Valley could send was a low genin, Muki. The young girl was situated on a tree looking out. The noble had gone to bed in his warm tent near a fire (which Muki told him not to have but he insisted.) The noble wouldn’t say why he need protection. The reason was that he had resonantly ticked off the assassins guild by telling local authorities the locations of some of their bases. It was the dead of night with the moon half full.

Renji stalked the campsite. Three guards had already fallen to him and now one remained. A genin from the looks of it. Renji laid a few trip wires in case he needed to make a quick escape. though it was only a routine. He never needed the trpas he set up, he was the best at what he did after all. He jumped into a nearby tree and threw a kunai at the figure. After he released it he flitted into another tree and threw another. he continued this process for a few moments. The shinobi wouldnt be able to get his bearing if he kept this up.

The kunai all hit there mark causing them to stab right into Muki. But then she exploded into a cloud of smock and a log took her place. She had substituted herself. The real her was no in the tent protecting the noble. She didn’t know how many she was up against or how powerful they were. Her heart was pounding as fear wanted to set into her body.

A substitution. A minor trick that would only delay the inevitable. Renji dropped from the trees and made his way stealthily to the campsite. In the dark it would be nearly impossible to see him since he was wearing his armor. Although the hlaf moon would illuminate a bit, he would appear as nothing more than a shadow. As long as he stayed away from the fire, he would be fine. He drew his sword from its sheathe and funneled a bit of chakra into it. he swung it lightly and a single white bird appeared from the blade. He directed the bird to the nearby tent. Two guards awaited inside. One male, one female. And on the ground standing close to one of the sides of the tent, was his mark. Renji cursed his client. He could have dispatched this man quickly, but the order was to make sure that he knew why he was about to be killed. He had sold the clients daughter after kidnapping her. And though Renji had gotten her back, his client had insisted the man be punished. Renji stepped to the side where the male guard was standing. He hadnt yet noticed his presence. Renji pulled his blade back and stabbed it into the tent and the mans neck, swinging the blade upward with one hand, he threw a kunai at the girl with the other.

Muki used her own kunai to block the incoming one. This was bad. She was the only one left. What was she going to do? She wasn’t cut out for this. Nonetheless she stood her ground. Her legs trembled in fear. The client however was still fast asleep. She waited inside the tent waiting for this assassin and intended to stab him the minute she saw him.

Renji jumped to the entrance of the tent. Whoever the girl was, she wasnt that great. She was accurate sure, but that wouldnt help her very much. Renji made a clone of himself and the two stepped inside. The clone took point with Renji close behind.

With a battle cry Muki started a run to stab into the first assassin that went in (the clone.) The noble was still asleep as he drunk himself to sleep. Empty bottles could be seen all around his bed.

The clone vanished with a puff of smoke and Renji grabbed the girls arm and tossed her aside. He did not enjoy killing women and he hoped the impact of her head hitting the ground would knock her unconcious. He quickly moved over to the man who lay asleep next to the wall and kicked him to wake him up.

Muki quickly fixed her fall so she would receive minimum damage. “Don’t you hurt him” She yelled throwing a few shuriken at the assassin. The sleeping man began to wake up, “whaatt…” He said in a half sleepy and half drunk voice.

Renji slid to the side dodging the shuriken. One slid across his arm, biting into the flesh. Renji sighed. "Leave now, girl. Or i will have to dispatch you along with this slave trader." He said without turning around. His voice was cold.

“Slave trader?!” She said. Was that why that man needed protection? Nonetheless it was her mission to protect him. She grabbed a kunai and held it read to aim a strike once more.

"Very well." Renji kicked the man in the side of the head, knocking him out once more. "Shall we take this outside?" Renji did not wait for an answer. He flipped out the tent and waited in the small clearing under the light of the moon.

“Take this outside?” She said. What was this assassin thinking? Even though her gut feeling was telling her to say and guard the man she went out to the clearing with him. Her kunai was still in hand.

Renji waited for the girl to appear outside of the tent. He debated on dispatching her quickly or not. In the end he decided to play around for a bit. He would use Lucifer if she fought with range, otherwise it would just be his sword. When the girl appeared he swung his sword downward and a white ghostly wolf began to charge the girl at full speed. Renji didnt stay put for long. He dashed to the left and threw a few kuani directly at the girl and another two on etiher side of her.

The girl was shocked by the sudden attacks so she did the only trick that she had, substitution. While the lone log that looked like her took the hits she was off hiding in a tree trying to find the assassin.

Renji circled around the clearing. If she had retreated into the forest one of the traps would go off. Not that it would matter. Most of the traps were kunai launchers and paper bombs. A few poison darts lay in wait as well. All activated by various trip wires that only Renji knew of. After a few seconds he hadnt spotted the girl. Renji thought for a moment and used another clone. The clone dropped from the tree top and dashed for the tent. The girl would have to stop it and when she did, Renji would launch another attack.

Unforunatly for Muki she fell to one of Renji’s traps which set off an explosion at the tree she was hiding at. She was flung into the air completely vulnerable and unable to substitute again. She couldn’t attack the clone either.

Renji spotted her as soon as the detonation went off. The clone turned and dashed straight at her. It was intended to force her into submission so that Renji himself wouldnt have to kill her. Renji meanwhile opened up the weapon, "Lucifer" on his back. Four dull red glowing swords appeared behind him, all focused directly on the girl as she fell. They would only fire at her when Renji gave the command.

The clone was able to pin her down unable to move or attack anymore. She had lost this fight like so many others she fought. She was scared and fear was in her eyes as she looked at her attacker.

Renji stepped up next to the clone and looked down at the girl. She was in fear at the moment. Renji couldnt let this go to waste. "If you want to live, tell me now." He said cold heartedly. "I will knock you out and finish my mission. That way i can leave, when you wake up you should have about 5 minutes to compose yourself before the next patrol comes. Head for the Fuma estate. And tell the guards there what happend. If you dont do this, i will hunt you down and kill you. Understand?" She couldnt see his face, because he wore a mask, but if she could she would see that Renji did not want to have to kill her.

“I want to live but where is the Fuma estate? And what do I tell them? And what if they don’t believe me?” She asked very scared to the point where tears started to come out. She didn’t want to die.

Renji sighed. "Its just past Ame, about 10 miles or so. And tell them that the slave trader knew why he died." He kept the red swords focused on her the whole time they conversed. "They will believe you, if you say that Renji sent you."

“I’ll just please don’t hurt me. I’ll go right now if you want.” She said not wanting to get knocked out as well as getting killed.

(to make this rp a bit longer could she travel with Renji a while. Maybe if he is convincing enough he could persuade her into the organization)

(Well, at this time Renji is free lance. The organiztion was disbanded and now xeno runs it, until i can get back in Renji is essentially a merc. But she can still come with him.)

Renji sighed yet again. "Quit begging." He said simply. "Ill give you one last choice, I can either knock you out for the time being, or you can watch what i do to the man in there. Be warned, it will get a bit messy."

She looked down at the ground. “I will watch” She said ashamed. She waited for him to release her before trying to move.
