Meeting for Reason

"Well this I can tell you: You, Toshi Kuroda, are a reincarnation, more or less. Of Nakashima Kuroda. A twelve year old who was my best friend. But one day Aiden's twin brother brain-washed her and she wasn't the same. By now I was good friends with Naka, so you could guess I was ticked off. But it got worse: A few monthes later I was used to the new Naka, but Asmo, Aiden's twin brother, then made Naka so mad that Naka hung herself to see her son in hell... are ya with me so far?"

Toshi blinked in surprise and nodded. "That...Makes so much sense..." She lightly placed a hand around her neck, then on her stomach.

"And i'll tell ya the stupid part: Aiden was the father, and the sons name was suposed to be Toshi Kuroda. And when Naka was reincarnated she took the name of Toshi."

"That....means.....me? And Aiden- oh my..... Oh, Kami..." Toshi was shocked. So...she had had a child with.... Aiden. "But, I...ah... I..." She was speechless. "So that's why I seemed to like my name..."

"Yeppp! Now does everything in your life make sence? Oh and there is one more thing: Aiden said to me once that he wishes he could give you a chance to have a normal life, ya know, get together with a normal boy, have children, and grow old with a huspband. Considering he's probably like a 150 year old deamon or something eventhough he says he's twenty, but then again he could very well be twenty. I really don't know."

Toshi nodded. "He's older than that. He forgot what year he was first born as his first life." She looked down, and sighed. "I can't find anyone normal, so I can't have a normal family. There is no normal guy that could actually love-love me when Miru's near."

"Hey. I'm a normal kid" he said smiling.

"Yeah, but you don't love-love me that way." Toshi blushed and hit him playfully.

"One question for you: How do you know what's going on in my head?"

".....Okay, I don't. But that doesn't prove you don't not love-love me!" She blushed again, and looked at her feet.

" like I said, 'How do you know?'" he said in singsong.

Toshi's face turned tomato red, and she shook her head, but the blush stayed. "Well...uh... Do you...?" she asked timidly.

"Mabey." Yuudai looked back at the monument, and gazed off into space.

"I'll take that as a no for now." Toshi cracked a small smile, and noticed Yuudai's expression. "Yuu-chan? What's wrong?"

"Nothing, just thinking." Yuudai kept starring into space. Smiling. "And the only reason you think no one loves you like you think is because Miru probably thinks of you as her own daughter and is being over-protective."

Toshi shrugged. "That. And the fact that people would see me as just a little sister when they see Miru. She's strong, beautiful, and mature, and I'm clumsy, plain, and naive. Of course people would give her more attention." She smiled and hugged Yuudai's arm. "But I guess you don't think of Miru as a love interest since she's your cousin, huh?"

"No. We're not really close related, she's probably more like my first cousion twice removed or something."

"Oh. But she is more preferable than me," Toshi stated. She sighed, and continued reading the names, though she still keep her ears peeled for anything Yuudai might say.

Yuudai kept silent, as if he did speak he would be killed until he said, "I know this sounds weird, but if it were my choice... I would choose you over Miru."

Toshi tilted her head, and looked up at Yuudai strangely. "Eh? Why?"

"I don't know... I just would." he turned and smiled at her warmlly. Then gazed back at the monument.

Toshi blinked, then smiled back. She looked at the sun, and sighed. "Almost sunset! Then, we can go and look at the Hokages' faces again. I hear it looks great at that time."

"I've never seen it at night. I hope it looks good!" Yuudai was still gazing at the monument, reading the names.

"It might get too dark at night, though. And I'd have to go back immediately after." Toshi sighed, looking tired. "I'm old enough to sacrifice my life, but I still have a curfew..."

"Oh well. Then we'd better get goin." Yuudai motioned and started running toward the hokage office.
