The Quest For Power

"So I tak it you still like me Toshi-chan?" it was the first time he didn't just call her 'Toshi' but this time he adressed her.

"Of course I- hey, you said Toshi-chan!" she said, jumping back in shock. "A-are you okay?"

"I'm fine Toshi-chan. Why do you ask? I'm adressing you. Whats so special about that?"

"You...You've never done that before...!" she said, amazed. "You- oh no. Yuu-chan, did he get any blood on you?" she asked, solemn.

"No I didn't, and I know this kinda sounds mean, but don't get used to me adressing you. I just tryed it and it doesn't sound as nice as your regular name."

Toshi sighed with relief. "Good. I'm too used to the mean and competitive Yuudai." She checked his hand for damages. "What was the jutsu you did?"

His hand felt and looked normal since his glove covered it. He kept it on and said, "My hand if fine. That jutsy is called: Katon-Engan. Its like a time bomb. I plant it in someoje and depending on how big it was determins the damage and range of the explosion."

"...so you planted a fire bomb in Asmo," she stated, frowning. "Where did you learn it?"

"Well I didn't just go away for a year to twiddlee my thumbs. I learned it in... ummm. I think in Kirigakure!"

"You learned a Fire-based jutsu in Water country?" she asked, restraining laughter. "You didn't have to go that far for me..."

"I went farther than that. I even went to the village hidden in the clouds! And Iwagakure, and other villages."

"You went that far?! Yuu-chan, I know you wouldn't get killed, but please! I'm not worth it!" she said, sighing.

"To me... you are." knowing Aiden was probably following them. He still haden't tryed to make her so jealous that she would come to him. Yuudai thought it was a bluff, besides Aiden probably forgot about it by now.

"Why?" Toshi asked, looking a bit sad. "Why this much....?" Aiden was indeed watching. And he was boiling with envy. At least Yuudai never kissed Toshi before.

"Because, I like you." Yuudai glanced back to see if he could see Aiden. But even though he coulden't he knew that Aiden was following him and Toshi.

If Toshi were drinking something, she would surely have spurted it out in surprise. "...you're sick, aren't you? The honorifics were scary enough, now this!" She sighed, and checked his fore head.

Aiden frowned. "Stop it, Yuudai..."

"Ya know I talked to Toshi about this type of situation last year. Remember Toahi?" Yuudai turned around and stared at Aiden, "The condition of Aiden letting you go."

Aiden glared at Yuudai. "What condition? I forgot."

Toshi looked between the two most important men in her life. 'Huh?'

"Don't play stupid Aiden. You know the only reason no one would hook up with Toshi is you. And the condition is: When Toshi finds someone she loves so much to do it with that you'll lay off Toshi. But the reason no one is brave enough to get together with her because they find out that she and him are being watched by a 20 year old deamon! Now you're ticked off because I'm not afraid of you. Ya know why? Because I'm stronger than Asmo! I killed him and Asmo was stronger than you! So you're mad because I won't back off Toshi! Isn't that right Aiden? Isn't it?!" Yuudai said all this getting angryer ever sentence and now he was right in Aiden's face.

"Yes," Aiden hissed coldly, looking down at Yuudai. "Because none of us deserve her... She's meant to be without a mortal lover. Because you'll die. She wont."

Yuudai punched Aiden in the face really hard, so hard Aiden was on the ground. Yuudai walked over him and said firmly, "Toshi is the only person in 9 long years that showed me love and compasion. I don't care if I die or not and if she'll die or not. When she first kissed me I knew that I would die for her in an instant! And yes: We have kissed. Believe it or not old man!"

"YOU WHAT?!" Aiden growled, getting up. He wiped the blood off his face and glared at Yuudai. "When?! Who started it?! How far did you go?!"

Yuudai didn't want to blame it on Toshi and get her in trouble so he lied, "I did and about 3 or 4 times" he glanced at Toshi ao she didn't say anything about what he just said. Thinking to himself, 'I may have to kill Aiden here too.'

Toshi ran up between them and pushed them apart. "Stop it! I'm not worth fighting over, you two! Now, stop it! If I see you two fighting again, I swear, I'm running away!"

Yuudai stared at Aiden as if he had just beat him in a gigantic battle of wits against him. He smiled and walked away, putting away the sword he had pulled out. 'I will kill you eventually Aiden.' Yuudai had had his cape on the whole time and as he was walking away he fliped the hood up and dissapeared out of sight. A few minutes later he quietly came up on a branch to spy on them.
