The Quest For Power

Yuudai whispered to Toshi, "Be quiet. We don't want him to know we're here. Go behind that tree." he pointed to a tree and then went behind another.

Toshi nodded, and crept away, up onto the tree.

Yuudai leaned up behind his tree and observed to see if Aiden had anything in his hand to try to kill himself. A kunai, a sword, some rope, but he coulden't get a good look at the front of him.

Aiden was just looking at the sunflowers, unnoticing anything else.

Toshi hung upside down from a tree branch, looking at Yuudai. "This place feels familiar..."

"Not to me. I've never been here." he silently climbed the tree he was leaning agains and knekt on one knee on a branch.

Toshi frowned and thought, the a look of dawning realization crossed her face. "Oh my goodness..." Her memory seal was burning painfully, but she stood it. "This is where I hurt myself during training. It's where he and I first met."

"That must be why he's here! Wait here for a second." he then jumped down from the tree with a soft *thump* and walked silently until he was right behind Aiden.

Aiden didn't notice Yuudai. He was looking around, as if there was something he wanted to find.

Yuudai sighed and asked calmly, "What are you doing here, Aiden? Toshi is okay. It was Asmo controlling her when she said she chose neither of us. She's okay now."

"And how do I know you're not Asmo pretending to be Yuudai just so you can stab my heart again?" he asked, his tone dull.

"You're a checky little S.O.B. that I'd like to kill right now, but I don't want to make Toshi unhappy. That convinsing enough?"

"...yeah, you're Yuudai alright." Aiden sighed and got up. "But! Even if it was just Asmo disguised as Toshi, how do we know how she really feels?"

Yuudai pointed lazily to the tree that Toshi was in. "Ask her your lself if you want to know." to tell the truth. Yuudai wanted to know how she felt and thought, 'looks like today is the day you have to choose, Toshi.'

Aiden narrowed his eyes and went over to the tree. Toshi was there...unconcious, with her seal on her neck burning bright red.

When Yuudai came over he asked, "What is that?" and pointed at the seal on her neck. "And can you remove it? or heal it or something?"

"It's a memory seal, so she won't remember her past life. But she tried to remember, and this happened... I can't remove or heal it, I don't know why," he said, frowning.

"So we just have to wait for it to calm down? Then she'll be back to normal and we can get on with our normal lives and pretend like this never happened?"

"No, of course not. I'm going to take out her memories of me, make fake ones about you, let you two live, marry, have kids and I won't disturb you. And why? Because she loves you." Aiden was hiding his face as he traced the seal. "She loves YOU, some boy she's known for two years, and not me, someone who took care of her since she was a baby..."

Yuudai glared athim, "You are felling eny over me arn't you" he said kinda teasing and kinda being serious.

"Yes, yes I am," he said sourly. "Of course I would be!"

"Well then... erase all my memories of you too. Every time I would be with Toshi, knowing that you won't contact her will make me feel very guilty."

"Maybe I want you to live with that guilt."

"It's not my fault that you made this decision, it's also not my fault that Toshi loves me. I don'tsee how it couldbe my fault. Its her free will."

"Free will..." Aiden muttered, wearing a wry grin. "I wish I had one of those..."

"Why don't you have any free will? Thats soundshorrible. I would hate my life if I didn't have any free will. How can you live like that?"
