New Teammate (Exile and Nbird)

“YES-SIR” she signed. She started jumping from roof to roof again. Once she got outside of the town she started walking to the place. She hoped that whatever Renji was going to do that it wasn’t going to be the end of him.

Renji quickly ran to the main building of the strong hold. He knew that they had a particular scroll here that he needed to see. He hoped it was some kind of jutsu that he could master quickly. He definitely needed a new jutsu. After finding the scroll Renji raced back to the clearing hoping that the girl would not be dead.

She saw Renji coming. She didn’t say anything not even in sign language. She was just waiting to be told what to do next.

Renji smiled under his mask. So the girl was alive. He sprinted until he got close and then indicated her to follow. "Good job out there by the way."

She followed Renji from behind. She continued not to say anything. She wondered if they were going back to the base.

When they arrived at a small cave, Renji removed his mask. He was an attractive young man. Most people thought so. It was kind of a burden and Renji almost always hated the attention it got him. "We will rest here until tomorrow night and then head back to base."

She nodded and sat down. She wanted to be prepared for an attack so she took out here crossbow and loaded it just in case.

Renji admired her spunk. "You are smart to have that ready. We are still in enemy territory." Renji looked around. "So how long have you been in the Guild?"

“WHOLE-LIFE” she signed to him.

"Same." He watched her eyes for a moment. "How old are you?"

She smiled beneath her mask. She lifted her hand and used her fingers to signify the number 4.

Renji laughed again. This time in a joking sense. "So you were born on a leap year?"

She nodded her head yes with a big smile. She tried not to laugh as her laugh was weird.

"What caused you to lose your voice?" He was truly curious about this girl.

Her smile went away. She didn’t really like to talk about this subject. She took off her mask and opened her mouth. Her whole tongue had been cut out of her mouth by a blade.

Renji looked aside. He could tell that it pained her to show her wound. He apologizec and wondered briefly if a medical nin could replace the tongue. He made a note to find out. "Tired?" He asked

She shock her head no. She had been trained to go for days with no sleep.

"Then you can take the first watch. No use are either of us if we are both without some rest." Renji began a small fire and sat down cross-legged and began to meditate. "Retrieve me in an hour."

If they were hiding she didn’t see the point of a fire. But she didn’t bother to ask. She put her mask back up and grabbed her crossbow. She stayed outside of the cave for an hour. Nothing very exciting happened. She went inside like she was told to switch with Renji.

*bump*

When the girl came back Renji stood up silently and moved to the front of the cave. "Any trouble out there?" He asked.

She nodded her head no. She hoped that it would stay that way she sat down in the cave near the fire.

"Get some rest." He said lightly. He pulled his mask on and stepped out into the morning sun. It was strange that no one had followed them. He hadnt even detected a chakra nature out here other then their own. He sat at the mouth of the cave with his sword drawn.

Amaya closed her eye’s but she didn’t get any sleep. She was too cautious to do that.

Renji walked back over slowly. The moon was up now and it was time to return home. "Lets go."
