On Guard (nbird and Yurei)

"The pain should pass soon so don't worry..." Yurei said as she went back into bed. "Tsukiakara...when we get to where we're going...I want you to go back home, ok?" Yurei said, her hands under her head as she stared up to the other bunk.

“sure” he said. The thought of home reminded him of that day when he walked into his clan’s grounds to see it completely in ruin. He could remember the smell of the burning bodies. He never returned there after that. Now days, he lives in a small little apartment in the Hidden Valley Village.

"Tsukiakara...what is it like, to have a family then to lose them..." Yurei asked him. She couldn't remember where her family was so with her, there was a slight glimmer of hope...but she wanted to know what it was like, knowing that they were actually dead.

Tsukiakara laid there silently for a moment as he thought how to answer that question. “I totally lost it for a while when I first heard everyone had died. But I’m ok with it now. As long as I remember them it’s like they to are still alive to me.”

Yurei nodded and looked back up to the bunk ahead of her, "What were they like?" she asked but sounded tired and sleepy.

“The thing I remember most about them was their smiles. How they loved how I was able to master jutsus that have long been forgotten. They placed all their hopes and dreams that I would make our clan great again and I still will.” He said.

"Well...I hope you do too..." Yurei said as she started to fall asleep, "I hope so too..."

The rain outside continued to pour. But nonetheless Tsukiakara went to sleep as well. When the sun rose again the rain and lightning had stopped. Tsukiakara awoke but did not move out of the bunk as his back was still sore.

Yurei was still fast asleep, her hands tucked under her head as she mumbled with her dreams, "Brother...why did you have to go..."

Tsukiakara couldn’t help but to listen to Yurei sleep talking. He wished he could do something to help Yurei find her brother. No one deceives to lose their family. He got himself to sit up even though he was still in pain.

"I left...to find you...you left me alone...you promised you wouldn't..." Yurei said, almost crying about it, as she slept. Deep within her mind, she remember things but Yurei only remembered then while sleeping, the sleep talking she had all her life so she told her memories but no one (except u course) knew, not even her when she woke up.

Maybe if Tsukiakara tried talking to Yurei as she slept he might be able to get some answers for her. It was a least worth a try. “Where is he going?” Tsukiakara asked wondering if she would answer back.

"he went...on a mission...he didn't return home..." Yurei mumbled, rolling over onto her good side.

Well that wasn’t much information but at least she was answering back. “What kind of mission? Who sent him?”

"It was an escort mission...that is what I was told...but I knew there was something else...why did he lie?" Yurei said, tears started to fall down her cheeks.

Ok that was going to be another dead end so he was going to have to try a different question. “Did you live together?”

"Yes...we lived near a river...we would catch fish when he didn't have to go..." Yurei said softly as she rolled back onto her back.

Ok let’s see if he could narrow down where this river was. “Was your brother a ninja.” If he was she might know what village he was from

"He was a ninja...in the Hidden Mist..." Yurei said, curling up a bit in the blankets.

“The Mist!?” Well now he had a general idea of where to start looking. He would question her anymore, she needed her sleep. Tsukiakara laid back down to think up where to go from here.

Yurei woke up a few hours later, she got up and groaned since it hurt to move but she had to keep going, "Oh..." Yurei said then looked around for Tsukiakara.

“How did you sleep?” Tsukiakara asked still in his bunk. He didn’t go back to sleep. Instead he stay up thinking how to get to the Land of Water.

"I slept well enough...how long were you awake?" Yurei said, almost mumbled, as she stood up, "I need to wash this..." Yurei mentioned, looking down at the cloak.

“Just a few hours. There’s the river outside if you need to wash up. I’ll cook us breakfast.” He said as he sat up and got out of the bunk.

Yurei nodded as she went outside to the river and washed her cloak. She decdied to sit by the river for a little bit before going back to the cave, she smiled slightly as she ran her hand through the crisp cold water.

(this is the 1st time she has completely taken off her cloak)
