On Guard (nbird and Yurei)

The enemy didn’t attack, yet. But their was no way they would be able to find a hiding place with them still tailing them. Tsukiakara just kept walking forward pretending that nothing was happening. But why didn’t they attack unless… Tsukiakara looked ahead. They must have a trap ahead or something.

"Wait..." Yurei said in a low tone again. Keeping her ears out for who ever was following them, she was trying to figure out if they would be ambushing them or if they had set up a trap instead. Either way, she had a bad feeling that something bad is going to happen.

Soon what appeared to be rubber balls, were thrown at the two. The balls started emitting some strange purple smoke. Tsukiakara recognized it immediately. Coving his mouth with his sleeve he muttered. “Be careful, it’s poison.” It was everywhere making it hard to even see. There was no where to run to if they were to go blindly into any direction and the enemy would make short work of them. This was bad.

Yurei quickly covered her mouth and nose as well, she didn't trust it even if it was harmless...but it wasn't. The poisonous smoke had given the enemy(ies) some cover to make their next move. Yurei took out her kunai and stood still, if she couldn't use her eyes (well....eye since the other one is partly blind) then she could use her hearing to dodge their attacks at less.

Several kunai were then heard to be thrown. They most of been poorly aimed because all of them missed the two. But wait a minute. Tsukiakara looked at the kunai. Their were strings attached. By the time Tsukiakara realized what had happened it was to late. The sting surrounded him making it impossible to move of cover his mouth. He just hoped Yukei didn’t share his same fate.

Yurei heard the whislting sound of the kunai passing by her, one nearly getting her till she hit it out of the way. There was something strange about the kunai's though...like they purposly missed them..."Tsukiakara!" she said as she moved backwards, away from where the kunai's crossed her before anything could happen...anything with the kunai's at less. She had to find him before something else happened.

Tsukiakara had passed out unable to hold his breath. Soon a gust of wind came and blew the poison away. When it had cleared, several ninja surrounded Yukei with blades drawn. “Come quietly girl. and we won’t have to harm you” one of them said.

Yurei covered her face with her arm when the wind came, she felt like something was wrong though. Uncovering her face, she came to face what her erry feeling was. Yurei was surrounded by the enemy. “Come quietly girl. and we won’t have to harm you” one of them said, Yurei's brows drew together, "Girl? I am no simple girl and what makes you think you can tell me what to do?" The answer though was Tsukiakara...

"I will go with you on one condition..." Just because Yurei was caught, didn't mean that Tsukiakara had to go down with her...plus it was easier to escape if she didn't have to worry about someone else. "Let the boy go."

Two men started whispering to each other. When they were finished one of them smiled and said to Yurei, “Very well we won’t take the boy with us.”

(They’re lying just in case Yurei has some random ability to tell whether or not they are telling the truth.)

Yurei tilted her head down, listening into what they were saying. They were going to lie to her...she hated lies. "Either you let him go....or I'll cut out your eyes." Yurei said in a dark matter, "And if you lie to me again then I will break every bone in your pathetic bodies."

“So you caught us in a little lie. The thing is we can just let him go. He has something that we want. And besides who is supposed to give him the antidote to the poison.”

(Last sentence is a lie)

Yurei looked straight into the man's eye, "I told you to stop lying to me...besides, what is so important that you need him, hmm?" Yurei's hood still shadowed her face, her hands still had the kunai's and where hidden as well. She knew she was quick enough to maybe fend off a few and escape but would she be able to with Tsukiakara?

“You mean you don’t know who he is. He is the last surviving member of the Hakujin clan a clan renowned for making swords of untold power. And as for you little lady. If we send you back to the Hidden Mist I sure we will be rewarded handsomely.”

"Hidden Mist?" Yurei thought, was that where she was from and who was the Hakujin clan? Nevertheless, Yurei had to escape with Tsukiakara. "I can care less about who he is, your not taking him or me!"
In a flash, Yurei threw down your smoke bombs to give her some cover. It was right in front of the man that she won't be supirsed if he inhaled some smoke. Yurei quickly moved back and threw her 2 kunai's at 2 of the men (the ones that were whispering to eachother before). A new kunai in a hand, Yurei located Tsukiakara, "Come on boy, wake up." She said under her breath to him.

Tsukiakara did not wake up but he was still breathing and his fatal were still good. The enemy was in a panic. “Where did she go?! I can’s see!! *cough, cough*”

Yurei had to go before the smoke cleared. She picked Tsukiakara up and piggy backed him but she had some diffculties with that. She stood up as the smoke started to clear, "Shit..." she hissed. Looking behind for a moment then back ahead, Yurei dashed off, heading to the left. (From where they were heading)

The enemy was unable to follow but it could be assured that they would return. It had been a full hour till Tsukiakara started opening his eyes. The couldn’t move his body and he was unsure where he was.

Yurei yawned, she had taken a route around their attacks so they both escaped and were heading in the same direction. Her feet were sore from carrying Tsukiakara for a full hour, "Oh..." she sighed. Yurei heard his breathing change suddenly and she stopped and looked to him, opening his eyes, "Finally, your awake...can you move?" she asked him.

“I’m afraid not. That poison is made from a special mushroom that only grows in this area. The Hidden Valley uses it a lot. It’s not lethal unless you breath the spores around the clock for a least a week. But at high enough doses it causes paralysis but thankfully not death. Where did those guy’s go? Were we captured.?”

"No, we escaped. When will you regain your mobility?" Yurei asked as she kept walking though hoping that they weren't being followed by them or anyone eles...but Yurei may had just found out where she was from and maybe that was were her family was, "Who is the Hakujin clan?"

“The Hakujin clan was a great clan who resided here in the Land of Rivers. I speak in the past tense though…”

"Do you know what happened to them?" Yurei stopped and set him down, she needed to stop for a moment...she needed answers. "They were after you...cause you have some kind of connection with that clan. I am not sure what cause I was trying to think of a way to escape but they meantioned you and they mentioned that clan, all in the same sentence."

“We had a plot of land which we called home. But it was attack and burnt to the ground. Not even the women and children were spared. I was away on a mission at the time and so survived the catastrophe.”

Yurei listened to what Tsuiakara had to say, "Then why be after you? Do you know who might to take you?" she asked as Yurei sat near him, she needed to know as much as she could...to know if bringing him along was worth the while.

“The Hakujin Clan invented several powerful kenjutsu. The jutsu proved so powerful and dangerous that they pledged to keep them secret even if it met to die for it.”
